Sue D’Emic, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Time Inc., is responsible for leading the company’s financial functions and strategies, including all accounting, budgeting, reporting and tax activities, IT and production operations.
D’Emic joined Time Inc. as Senior Vice President, Controller in October 2013 and was an integral part of the team that led the successful spin-off from Time Warner. In this role, she was responsible for all accounting matters, including SEC reporting and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, and she oversaw all financial reporting, procurement and treasury operations.
Previously, D’Emic was Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Frontier Communications, the largest provider of phone, internet and video services to rural towns and cities across the country, from April 2011 until October 2013. At Frontier, she was responsible for all aspects of accounting, financial planning and analysis, SEC and regulatory reporting, tax and revenue assurance.
D’Emic spent 13 years at Reader’s Digest serving in a variety of accounting and finance positions, including Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. In addition, she has held financial positions at Kraft Foods International and the Colgate Palmolive Company. D’Emic began her career at KPMG, where she worked with high-profile clients such as CPC, now part of Unilever, Revlon and Squibb Pharmaceuticals.
D’Emic earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Binghamton and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is a member of the Financial Women’s Association, AICPA and the New York State Society of CPAs. D’Emic also serves on the Board of Directors of the Childcare Council of Westchester. She lives in Ossining, New York, with her husband and two children.
