Howard M. Averill
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Howard M. Averill serves as Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for leading Time Inc.'s financial functions and strategies, including all accounting, budgeting, reporting and tax activities. In addition, Averill has global responsibility for information technology, production and fulfillment operations. He also currently oversees the company's consumer marketing businesses.

Averill was a member of the company's interim management committee in 2011, prior to the appointment of a new CEO in January 2012.

Prior to joining Time Inc. in 2007, Averill was Executive Vice President and CFO at NBC Universal Television. During his 10 years at NBC Universal, he served in a variety of CFO roles in New York and Los Angeles, including positions at MSNBC, NBC News, NBC West Coast and NBC Universal Television Group.

Previous to NBC Universal, Averill was an executive at ITT/ Sheraton Corporation in New York and Boston and also held positions with Pepsi-Cola Company and Arthur Andersen & Co., where he earned his CPA.

Averill serves on the Investment Committee for Time Warner's Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Retirement Plans. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
