Stephanie George
Executive Vice President

Stephanie George is executive vice president of Time Inc.  In this role, she presides over People, People en Español, People StyleWatch, Entertainment Weekly, Real Simple, In Style, Essence and the Time Inc. Media Group, the company’s corporate sales and marketing arm. She also oversees Time Inc.’s partnership with American Express Publishing, holding a seat on its board.

Prior to becoming executive vice president in early 2007, George had served as president of In Style, Real Simple, Essence, and The Parenting Group since 2005.  

She originally came to Time Inc. as president of In Style in 2001.  During George’s tenure at In Style, she established the brand as the unparalleled industry leader, repeatedly topping the charts in ad page and circulation gains. 

George also led In Style’s transformation from magazine to global brand, developing television programming, a highly-trafficked Web site, mobile phone applications, top-selling books, successful special issues, premier events in the Hollywood and fashion communities, and international editions in eleven countries. 

Before joining Time Inc., George, was at Fairchild Publications from 1988.  She served as president, Women’s Wear Daily Media Worldwide, where she oversaw a host of special issues, international editions and the development of internet strategies.  Prior to that post, she was executive vice president of Fairchild Publications, responsible for the company’s twelve trade and consumer titles including W, Jane and Women’s Wear Daily.  As publisher of W for ten years, she remade the broadsheet into a glossy consumer monthly and presided over the successful launch of Jane.

George also serves on the boards of Burberry, Lincoln Center, and Cosmetic Executive Women and lends her time and energy to a number of causes and organizations, including the Children’s Action Network, Project A.L.S., Legal Momentum, and the Fashion Institute of Technology.

George lives in Upper Montclair, NJ with her husband, William Lenchinsky, and their daughter, Ali.
