Citizenship
Time Inc. believes both our company and employees have an integral role to play in our communities. By actively supporting several philanthropic organizations, and creating opportunities for employees to become involved, Time Inc. leverages the talents and enthusiasm of our employees for the betterment of our communities.
A key example of this commitment is Time Inc.'s Annual "Time To Give Back" charitable campaign. During this month-long campaign each fall, employees have the opportunity to contribute to one of five featured organizations or the charity or school of their choice. These contributions are then matched two to one by the company. With this match, employees have donated more than $4.5 million since the program's inception in 2002.
In addition, Time Inc. supports other organizations throughout the year with activities, fundraisers and drives for groups including City Harvest, Dress for Success, Habitat for Humanity, Communities in Schools and Links to Literacy. Many Time Inc. employees also participate in pro-bono consulting projects for non-profit organizations through the Taproot organization.
Another integral part of citizenship is ethics. Time Inc. holds ethics in extremely high regard in the workplace. All Time Inc. employees receive annual ethics and compliance training, emphasizing in-depth training on matters that are relevant to the conduct of our business.
Finally, above all else, Time Inc. stands for journalistic integrity. Time Inc.'s founder Henry Luce wrote that Time Inc. is "principally a journalistic enterprise and, as such, an enterprise to be operated in the public interest as well as in the interest of its stockholders." This commitment is still carried throughout all of Time Inc.'s journalism today, providing unbiased reporting and trusted editing in each of our approximately 125 titles.
