The ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon recognizes the outstanding achievements of trailblazing women in film and television during Oscar® week.

ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood is one of the most buzzed about events of the red carpet season. The exclusive awards luncheon, held at the luxurious, iconic Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, spotlights the stellar accomplishments of African-American female performers and creators in film and television annually during Oscar® week. Over 300 VIPs, Hollywood insiders and celebrities attend this intimate celebration. Since its inception in 2008, the event has honored some of the most cherished figures in the industry, including: Oprah Winfrey, Lupita Nyong’o, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, Ava DuVernay, Octavia Spencer, Kerry Washington, Halle Berry, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Viola Davis, Jennifer Hudson, Ruby Dee, Diahann Carroll, Cicely Tyson and more. This elegant event has also hosted much of Hollywood’s elite, including Tom Cruise, Sidney Poitier, Will Smith, Amy Adams, Forest Whitaker and Terrence Howard, among many others.
