  • The TIME 2013 Person of the Year tweet was @TIME’s most retweeted tweet of all time.
  • TIME partnered with Twitter and NBC’s Today show on the Person of the Year reveal for 2013.
  • Within 10 minutes of the TIME 2013 Person of the Year choice going live @pontifex and #TIMEPOY were mentioned on Twitter more than 7,000 times.
  • TIME began its annual “Person of the Year” tradition in 1927, when the editors named Charles Lindbergh “Man of the Year” after not putting him on the cover when he flew solo over the Atlantic.
