August 30, 2011

Multi-platform program spotlights personalities whose respective disciplines represent an innovative and thoughtful integration of technology, usability and ease

(New York, NY and Dearborn, MI, August 30, 2011): Time Inc. and Lincoln have teamed up for the multi-platform program New Century Design, it was announced today. As part of a Lincoln-branded idea series, the program promotes the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and MKX premium crossover models and spotlights various personalities whose respective disciplines represent a thoughtful integration of technology, usability and ease. New Century Design also showcases an approach to design and technology where the comfort and sensory pleasure of the end-user is of primary consideration.

“Time Inc. was able to highlight various accomplished innovators in this multi-platform program that is both highly relevant and engaging,” said Leslie Picard, President, Time Inc. Branded Solutions. “By leveraging the power of our brands, we were able to seamlessly bring this campaign to life for Lincoln.”

New Century Design features the following thought-leaders:

-- Craig Calfee, who uses high performance and sustainable materials such as carbon and bamboo to build top-notch high-end bicycle frames.

-- Linda Allen who developed an innovative collection of indoor/outdoor wireless table lamps. Linda has also helped create a solar powered light that allows communities in Africa to continue to thrive past sunset.

-- Visionary Design Firm, AvroKO which draws from the architectural and design expertise of its four principals to integrate innovation and functionality into the restaurants and other spaces they design.

-- Guy Kawasaki, a twenty-first century entrepreneur, author, and venture capitalist, who helps dreamers transform society with revolutionary businesses.

Creative executions featuring these innovators and the award-winning Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and MKX premium crossover have started to appear across various Time Inc. and American Express Publishing brands such as Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, Departures, InStyle, and in the TIME iPad edition. The program will also run in the September 26 issue of FORTUNE and in the October issue of ESSENCE.

Additionally, digital units are appearing across various Time Inc. and American Express Publishing sites. The campaign also features a microsite, lincolnideaseries.com, where visitors can enter to win one of four themed, luxury prize packages and watch a series of videos produced by Time Inc. Studios.
