  • Obama Effect at Time Inc.

    Time Inc.’s extensive coverage of President Barack Obama has generated record newsstand sales, book sales and online traffic. TIME’s Person Of The Year issue was the bestselling in history, with 478,000 copies sold and the franchise drew more than 30 million page views on Time.com in a single day. TIME’s “President Obama: The Path to the White House” and LIFE’s “The American Journey of Barack Obama” reached at #16 and #7 respectively on The New York Times bestseller list. Essence’s January issue is projected to be the bestselling ever and their Bookazine “The Obamas: Portrait of an American Family” has distributed nearly 400,000 copies to retailers. And PEOPLE’s 11/17 Election issue with the Obama family on the cover saw newsstand sales of over 2 million.

  • Time Inc. One of 20 Largest Online Media Properties

    According to a Nielsen Online December 2008 custom analysis, the Time Inc. Network is now one of the 20 largest online media properties. Time Inc.’s unduplicated monthly audience of more than 25.6 million unique visitors, the aggregate audience of its 26 U.S. web sites, makes the company the 18th largest media property online. It also ranks among the top 20 based on engagement metrics. These include: time spent per user, (Time Inc. ranked 16th) with 18:37 minutes per user per month; and page views per unique visitor, (Time Inc. ranked 16th) with an average of 29 monthly page views per unique visitor.
  • FORTUNE's 100 Best Companies to Work For

    In January, FORTUNE released its 12th annual 100 Best Companies to Work For issue. NetApp, based in Sunnyvale, California, topped the list, followed by No. 2 Edward Jones, No. 3 Boston Consulting Group and No. 4 Google. The issue includes a piece on how great companies have handled recessions in the past and another that offers 12 tips for keeping your job in this economic climate. In its first day online, 100 Best Companies to Work For was a hit, with 10 million page views. In addition, CNNMoney.com drew more video streams – over 21 million - than all other sites in the financial news & information category combined.
  • PEOPLE.com’s Breaking Baby News

    People.com broke 30 stories in the last month, the most notable being the birth of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s second daughter on Jan. 6. By Jan. 7, the story had more than one million hits. On Jan. 13, People.com was first to have the baby’s name exclusively: Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck. The news of the birth was also covered on People’s Celebrity Baby Blog where the story elicited the most comments ever received on the site. And in its first month, the new PeoplePets.com generated 4.4 million page views and 1,660 pet profiles have been created.
  • Health.com’s New Diet and Weight Loss Channel

    Health.com launched a new Diet and Weight Loss channel on January 1st, featuring aggregated weight loss and fitness content from Health Magazine, plus original content including blogs by celebrity chef and weight loss guru Bethenny Frankel, Health weight loss editor Shaun Chavis and dietitian Julie Upton. The new channel launched with a sold-out sponsorship to Alli. The new channel has given a boost to the site and January is tracking to be one of the most highly-trafficked ever.
