  • LIFE.com Launches

    LIFE.com, the largest collection of professional photography online, launched on March 31st. A joint venture with Getty Images, the web site includes seven million photos, a combination of LIFE’s legendary archives and Getty’s extensive collection of contemporary photos. More than 3,000 new photos will be added to the site each day. The site features a number of photo galleries, including news, celebrity, sports and travel. Celebrity curators will create galleries that feature their favorite photos of a particular subject or theme.

  • PEOPLE Mobile Hits 1 Million Uniques

    Launched just three months ago, People.com Mobile has already reached 1 million monthly uniques. People.com Mobile users receive real-time PEOPLE branded entertainment news updates, celebrity photos, videos and reviews to their phones.
  • CNNMoney.com Launched Eight New Web Shows

    CNNMoney.com introduced eight new online business shows this month, including a twice-a-week segment called “Help Desk,” which will answer personal-finance questions, “Conscious Capitalism,” a weekly show on corporate philanthropy and “New Money,” featuring young entrepreneurs. In January 09, CNNMoney.com saw nearly 26 million video streams, up 226% year over year and 20% month over month, according
    to Omniture.
  • ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon

    ESSENCE magazine held its second annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon on February 19th. This event honored four of Hollywood’s finest, Halle Berry; Taraji P. Henson; Diahann Carroll, the first black actress in TV history to star in her own series in 1968 and director Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Secret Life of Bees). Celebrities such as Vivica Fox, Queen Latifah, Samuel L. Jackson, Vanessa Williams and Kerry Washington were in attendance. Sponsors for the event included Lexus, MasterCard and Moet & Chandon.
  • Time Inc. Experiments With Customized Magazine

    Time Inc. launched “Mine”, a custom magazine that allows consumers to choose content from eight Time Inc. and American Express Publishing titles. The magazine, which will include five-issues, will be available in print or digital versions. In print, the first issue will be shipped in early April, and then once every two weeks for 10 weeks. Online subscribers will get digital editions that look just like the printed version, but in a special format that allows virtual page turns with clicks. Readers can select five titles from the following: TIME, Sports Illustrated, Food & Wine, Real Simple, Money, InStyle, Golf, and Travel + Leisure. Lexus has signed on as the presenting advertiser.
  • IPC Websites Voted #1 In Hitwise Awards

    IPC Media websites Nuts.co.uk and TrustedReviews.com have been voted the top websites in their markets in the The Hitwise UK Online Performance Awards 2008, which recognize excellence in online performance through public popularity.
    www.nuts.co.uk is now the most popular men’s lifestyle site in Britain, based on market share of UK visits among all Lifestyle-Men’s websites. TrustedReviews.com took the number one spot as the most popular electronics site, based on market share of UK visits among all websites in the Computers and Internet-Electronics category.
  • Time Inc.’s U.S. Titles Recognized by the Industry for Excellence, Growth

    PEOPLE earned the #3 spot and Real Simple the #6 spot on Adweek’s 2009 “Hot List”. Adweek’s “10 under 60” list (for titles with ad revenues less than $60 million) included People StyleWatch at #4; All You at #7, and People en Español at #9. Time Inc. also received eight nominations for ASME’s 2009 National Magazine Awards, including Time for General Excellence and Photojournalism; Time.com for General Excellence Online; Real Simple for General Excellence; Sports Illustrated for Columns/Commentary; Health for Personal Service, and both Health.com and CNNMoney.com for Personal Service Online.
