Time Inc. Launches Time Axcess
Time Inc. announced the launch of a new branded network called Time Axcess, which will give marketers an alternative to third party ad networks. Time Axcess offers marketers the comfort that their ads will only appear in the well-lit environments of Time Inc. brands. The network, which includes People.com, CNNMoney.com, Time.com, SI.com and other Time Inc. sites, reaches an online audience of 27 million.

FORTUNE Released FORTUNE 500 List
Exxon Mobil unseated Wal-Mart (which had held the #1 spot for six of the last seven years) on the 2009 FORTUNE 500 list, shrugging off the oil price bubble and weathering what the magazine called the worst year ever for the country’s largest publicly traded companies. Other big drops on the list as a result of the economy included GM, which fell two spots to sixth, and Citigroup Inc. and Bank of America Corp., No. 8 and No. 9 last year, which slipped a couple notches from the Top 10. 38 companies fell off this year’s list, including Lehman Brothers, Washington Mutual and Wachovia, all of which have either gone under or been acquired by rival banks.

LIFE.com Attracts Over 2 Million Unique Visitors In First Three Weeks
Following its launch, LIFE.com had 27.3 million page views and 2.3 million uniques in the first three weeks (Omniture). The most viewed gallery was the LIFE Exclusive The Day MLK Died, featuring exclusive photos never before published in the magazine. Other popular galleries in the month of April included Miley Cyrus: LIFE Cover Girl and Best Sports Names, Past and Present.

InStyle.com’s New Hollywood Makeover Tool Attracts 12 Million Users
Since its launch four weeks ago, the InStyle.com Hollywood Makeover Tool has had over 12 million try-ons (Omniture). The tool allows users to upload their photos and experiment with hundreds of celebrity hairdos and make-up looks from stars such as Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Hudson, Kate Winslet and Jennifer Aniston. Time spent on InStyle.com’s Makeover section has increased by 35% to 11 minutes per visitor. Launch partners for the Hollywood Makeover Tool include Clinique and Cover Girl.

People StyleWatch Paging Up 20% Year-Over-Year
Ad pages in People StyleWatch were up 20% in April 09 vs. the same period last year. Paging for May 09 is up 14% year-over-year. New Advertisers include H&M, Hershey Company, Polo/Ralph Lauren, Havaianas, Smashbox Cosmetics and Novartis AG.

Fortune Kicks Off Women’s Mentoring Partnership
Now in its fourth year, the Fortune/U.S. State Department Global Women’s Mentoring Partnership kicked off on April 27th. For three weeks, 32 emerging women leaders from countries including Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Nigeria, Russia, Rwanda, Swaziland, Uganda and Vietnam will be mentored by participants of the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit. This year’s mentors include Andrea Jung, Chairman and CEO of Avon; Molly Ashby, CEO of Solera Capital; Kathleen Murphy, President, Personal Investing, at Fidelity; Meredith Whitney of Meredith Whitney Advisory Group and Jean Case, CEO of the Case Foundation. Women in senior leadership positions at Exxon Mobil, Wal-Mart, KPMG, DuPont, Goldman Sachs, and Skadden Arps are mentoring as well. The program kicked off with the mentees meeting Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
