TIME's 100 Most Influential
Some of the world's biggest names in business, entertainment, government, philanthropy, science and art gathered to celebrate TIME’s list of the 100 Most Influential People on May 5th at the Time Warner Center. First lady Michelle Obama delivered the keynote at the event. Oprah Winfrey, designer Stella McCartney and journalist Paul Krugman, all named to TIME’s 100, gave speeches and John Legend, Jimmy Fallon and Slumdog Millionaire composer A.R. Rahman, who also made the list, performed live. Attendees included Kate Hudson, Liv Tyler, Diane Sawyer, Claire Danes, Whoopi Goldberg, J.J. Abrams and pop star M.I.A.

PEOPLE's “100 Most Beautiful” Issue
PEOPLE, which set a record by reaching 43.6 million weekly readers (Spring MRI), released its 100 Most Beautiful issue this month. Michelle Obama, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, Hugh Jackman, Tina Fey, and other stars made the 20th annual list and actress Christina Applegate graced the cover. Featured in the issue's “Stars Without Makeup” section were Eva Mendes, Cindy Crawford, Claire Danes and Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, who wore nothing more than moisturizer for their close ups. A section called “Beauty After Baby,” where moms posed with their babies and shared the joys of motherhood, featured Christina Aguilera and her son Max, Angie Harmon and her daughter Emery and Today Show host Natalie Morales and her son Luke.

ESSENCE Partners with CNN On Weekly News Segments
Essence Communications announced a partnership with CNN, CNN Headline News and CNN.com to develop What Matters, a series of weekly news segments focused on issues of importance to the African-American community. As an extension of the regular news items and features in ESSENCE magazine, as well as the ongoing multicultural programming on CNN, the on-air and online segments will be hosted on CNN by Tony Harris and Don Lemon with contributions from Roland Martin, Fredricka Whitfield and T.J. Holmes. The segments will be hosted on HLN by anchor Richelle Carey. What Matters is sponsored by McDonald's.

People en Español Names 50 Most Beautiful Hispanic Celebrities
Eva Longoria, Ricky Martin, Selena Gómez and Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza were among the 50 named in People en ñol's 13th Annual “Most Beautiful” issue. The magazine traveled to Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Mexico to shoot all 50 celebrities with three main themes in mind: natural beauty, new generation and Hollywood classics. The Hollywood classics section salutes some of the most memorable film icons including Eva Longoria posing as Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Ricky Martin posing as Marlon Brando in A Streetcar Called Desire.

MONEY Debuts Redesign
MONEY debuted its new design with the May issue, including a new look and feel, faster pacing and greater connection to the web. The redesign coincided with an ad campaign for MONEY that ran in-house and in The Wall Street Journal.
