  • Special Issues and Bookazines Pay Tribute To Michael Jackson

    Time Inc. editors worked around the clock in the days following Michael Jackson’s death to put together special tributes on the artist.  TIME’s commemorative issue featured last minute interviews with Quincy Jones, Spike Lee, Tina Turner, Clive Davis and others while TIME.com’s up-to-the-minute reporting resulted in an 86% increase in daily page views. PEOPLE’s tribute to MJ was one of its top 10 best selling issues of all time and PEOPLE.com had its highest Friday traffic day ever on June 26, with over 40 million page views.  And LIFE released a bookazine titled Remembering Michael, 1958-2009 while LIFE.com drew more than 11 million page views that week.

  • 15th Annual ESSENCE Music Festival Sees Record Attendance of 428,000

    At the 15th annual ESSENCE Music Festival in New Orleans, 428,000 attendees turned out for the nation’s largest annual gathering of African-American music and culture.  The event, sponsored by Coca Cola, Wal-Mart, McDonald’s, Cover Girl, Ford and Mastercard, featured performances from Beyonce, Maxwell, Anita Baker, Lionel Richie and empowerment seminars for attendees hosted Steve Harvey, Bill Cosby, Roland Martin, Soledad O'Brien, Tom Joyner and Donna Brazile.

  • The FORTUNE Brainstorm: TECH Conference

    The industry’s top technology and media executives convened with leaders and influencers of the digital world to look at the future of the tech business at the FORTUNE Brainstorm: TECH Conference, held July 22-24 in Pasadena, California. Topics included the 21st century consumer, renewal and recovery, technology and social transformation and great innovations and business practices. Featured speakers included: Bob Iger, CEO of Disney; Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg; IAC CEO Barry Diller; Tim Armstrong, CEO of AOL; Twitter co-founder Biz Stone; Governor Howard Dean and actor/producer Ashton Kutcher, co-founder of Katalyst.

  • LIFE.com Sets Record Monthly and Single Day Traffic

    LIFE.com set a monthly traffic record in June with 68.1 million page views, 2.9 million uniques and 24.2 page views per visit. The site also set a single day record on Thursday, June 4th -- 12 million page views with the majority of visitors drawn to a collection of never-before-published photos of Adolf Hitler.  LIFE.com also featured a gallery of never-published photos of Marilyn Monroe in June, which attracted more than 8 million monthly page views.

  • MONEY's Best Places To Live Drives 35 Million Page Views to CNNMoney.com

    CNNMoney.com had its 2nd best one-day-traffic record for MONEY’s Best Places to Live package. An example of how Time Inc. franchises take on a new life online, CNNMoney.com attracted more than 35 million page views when Best Places to Live was released on July 13th, according to Omniture.  This follows the recent redesign of MONEY, which includes greater connection between editorial content in the magazine and the website.

  • IPC Media Scoops Three PPA Awards

    IPC Media was the biggest-winning consumer publisher at the UK's Periodical Publishers Association (PPA) Awards, walking away with wins for NME.COM, Nuts and woman&home, while Wallpaper was highly commended. woman&home was named Consumer Magazine of the Year;  NME.COM won Interactive Consumer Magazine of the Year; and Consumer Media Brand of the Year was awarded to Nuts. In addition, Wallpaper's art director Meirion Pritchard received the highly commended award in the Designer of the Year category.
