  • PEOPLE Sexiest Man Alive

    PEOPLE magazine named Johnny Depp as its “Sexiest Man Alive” 2009.   In addition to Depp, PEOPLE names 109 other guys in eclectic categories including “Best Chests” (Zac Efron, Dwayne Johnson), “Sexy at Every Age” (Corbin Bleu, Derek Jeter, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Chris Noth), and “Sexy Songwriters” (Tim McGraw, Chris Daughtry, Flo Rida, Josh Groban). PEOPLE is now read by 45 million people every week, the largest ever for any magazine.

  • TIME.com Launches Techland

    TIME.com announced the launch of Techland, a new content site covering technology, entertainment, games and culture. Techland will feature interviews with icons of the tech culture world, breaking news, gadget reviews and discussion on the latest comic books, sci-fi literature, films, TV shows and video games. The site is led by Peter Ha, TIME.com technology editor and former CrunchGear.com writer.

  • MyRecipes.com's New Wine Channel

    MyRecipes.com launched a new wine channel focused on providing food and wine pairings. The new channel includes a video series called “Weeknight Wines,” a new “Pairings of the Week” column, and a sophisticated wine pairing formula that automatically recommends several wine choices for each recipe in MyRecipes.com’s extensive recipe collection.

  • InStyle's Augmented Reality Issue

    The December issue of InStyle featuring Taylor Swift on the cover uses 3D technology to bring Swift and other features in the magazine to life. Readers who hold up the cover to their Web camera will see Swift in 3D, surrounded by snowflakes, in a 45-second video that ends when she signs her autograph across the screen. Inside the issue, a special “gifting in 3-D” marketing program features YSL Beauté, Intel, Michael Kors, Nordstrom and Armani, whose ads will have a click-to-buy e-commerce feature. InStyle introduced 12 new advertisers to the December issue and saw a 3.6 percent increase in pages year-over-year.

  • Real Simple #1 in Women's Lifestyle Category

    According to the latest PIB figures, Real Simple is #1 in ad pages in the women’s lifestyle category for 2009, taking the lead from Oprah for the first time ever.  New advertisers in the fourth quarter include Disney, eBay, Ford, Hallmark, Pfizer and Toyota.

  • Time Inc. Sponsors "Selling Detroit"

    As part of its Assignment Detroit initiative, Time Inc. is sponsoring “Selling Detroit”, a contest in which five agencies produce ad campaigns that market Detroit to young people.  The initiative aims to help change Detroit’s dire urban image by persuading young, talented people to plant roots and invest in the city.  The agencies’ work will appear in the December 7 issue of FORTUNE, as well as on CNNMoney.com, FORTUNE.com and TIME.com.  Visitors to the Web sites will be able to vote for their favorite among the five campaigns. The winner will be announced on December 2.
