  • SI Chrome App

    Sports Illustrated debuted its Snapshot app on Google's Chrome platform. Snapshot is a customizable, social, searchable sports app featuring award-winning photography from SI. The free app offers photo essays from the biggest global sporting events and rare images from SI's archives. Users can create their own channels around their favorite teams or sports, get up-to-the-minute news, scores and standings and share their favorite photos via their Facebook or Twitter accounts.

  • Real Simple Opens Pop-Up Shop in Rockefeller Plaza

    Real Simpleopened it’s first-ever holiday Pop-Up Shop, an experiential retail environment in Rockefeller Center.  The Real SimplePop-Up Shop, presented by Kodak, featured 15,000 square feet of retail space at 10 West 49th Street, opens from December 1-6. Inspired by the December issue of Real Simple, the store featured gift-giving ideas, tips and solutions for the holidays. Best-selling authors Jessica Seinfeld (Double Delicious!), Tim Gunn (Gunn’s Golden Rules), and Lisa Birnbach (True Prep) held book signings in the Shop.

  • TIME Names Person of the Year

    On December 15th Rick Stengel announced Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO of Facebook as TIME’s Person of the Year on NBC’s Today Show. The issue includes a comprehensive portrait of Zuckerberg, photos and video. Time.com received double the amount of traffic to the site compared to last year, totaling 8.1 million page views on the day of the announcement. The issue also features the runners-up, The Tea Party, Hamid Karzai, Julian Assange and the Chilean Miners. Many media leaders including Politico’s Mike Allen and Michael Calderone, The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz and ABC News White House Correspondent Jake Tapper tweeted about Person of the Year which promoted extensive discussion amongst users.

  • Real Simple iPad app

    Real Simple debuted its’ first App across three platforms simultaneously – the iPhone, the iPad, and the Android. No Time to Cook? Fast, Delicious Dinners to Fit Your Busy Schedule is the first Time Inc. brand to do so.  This App provides consumers with access to more than 850 recipes with step-by-step instructions by using several filters tailored to the user. Hillshire Farm is the exclusive launch sponsor of the App in a partnership that also includes premium placement within the Real Simple Five Easy Dinners franchise and on RealSimple.com.

  • Executive Changes

    Martha Nelson was appointed Editorial Director of Time Inc. This is the first time in 5 years this position has been filled and she is the first female executive to hold this position. In this role, Nelson will have editorial responsibility for all titles in the Lifestyle Group and the Style and Entertainment Group. Additionally, Stephanie George was named Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer and Paul Caine was named Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer. It was also announced that Randall Rothenberg will become the new Chief Digital Officer, overseeing all of Time Inc.’s digital efforts. He was previously at the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

     
  • MIN’s 25 Most Notable Launches in the Past 25 Years

    MIN honored the top 25 most notable magazine launches in the past 25 years featuring notable titles that are shaping the future of the industry. Cooking Light, Entertainment Weekly, InStyle, Real Simple and All You are highlighted. Additionally, Health was named one of the Hottest Reinventions for the year.
