  • Health's The CarbLovers Diet Book and App

    Health’s groundbreaking diet book by Health Editor-in-Chief Ellen Kunes and Frances Largeman-Roth RD returned to the New York Times bestseller list following Health’s “New Year/ New You” campaign. The book reached #5 in the Hardcover Advice category for The New York Times. Additionally, Health announced the launch of The CarbLovers Diet iPhone app. The app includes a free diet overview, 3-day menu sampler, a diet tracker, an eat-out guide, a carb-swap guide and daily diet tips.

  • TIME Cover Wins Highest Honor in Photojournalism

    TIME's August 2010 cover depicting a mutilated Afghan woman won the 2011 World Press Photo of the Year Award. Both the cover by photojournalist Jodi Bieber and feature story by TIME’s Aryn Baker received a great deal of coverage and exemplified the importance of the power of photojournalism and good storytelling. The image will be included in a traveling exhibition that will be seen by over two million people worldwide.

  • Time Inc. Partners with HP

    Hewlett-Packard unveiled its new tablet, the TouchPad, which hits the market in summer 2011. In Time Inc.'s partnership with HP, several Time Inc. titles will be available at the time of launch including Sports Illustrated, TIME, Fortune and PEOPLE, followed by a roll out of other Time Inc. brands over time.

  • Time Inc.'s "All Access" Digital Subscription Strategy

    Time Inc. has announced an "All Access" digital subscription strategy aimed at making Time Inc. content and other brand products available to consumers across multiple digital platforms. In conjunction with this announcement, Sports Illustrated became the first Time Inc. brand to unveil a digital subscription plan. The SI subscription model will be available to consumers on the Google Android operating system and the Web.

  • Essence Celebrates Black Women in Music

    Essence hosted the 2nd annual Essence Black Women in Music event during Grammy Week at the Playhouse Hollywood in Los Angeles. Janelle Monáe was honored at the red-carpet event and gave an exclusive performance with special guest Big Boi of OutKast. Essence Black Women in Music honoree Monáe is profiled in the February issue of Essence as part of an exclusive "GRAMMY Insider" editorial package. Essence Black Women in Music was sponsored by Lincoln.

     
  • SI Swimsuit Launch

    The 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue was revealed last week with supermodel Irina Shayk on the cover. The issue held launch events in both New York and Las Vegas. The cover was revealed on The Late Show with David Letterman and featured on The Today Show, The Early Show, and The Bachelor.

     
  • Time Inc. Leads the Way in Digital Ellies

    Time Inc. beat out all other media companies with a total of nine nominations from seven of our titles. Sports Illustrated is up for awards in the Design - Digital Media, Blogging and Mobile Edition categories. LIFE.com and TIME were both nominated in the Photography – Digital Media category, InStyle and Real Simple are up for the Best Interactive Tool award. Sunset received a nod for Blogging and Entertainment Weekly was nominated in the Video category.

     
  • PEOPLE.com Sets New Records

    PEOPLE.com set a monthly traffic record in January with 1 billion page views – the first magazine website to ever do so. The site’s combination of breaking news, photo specials and video helped to achieve this milestone. Additionally, on Facebook PEOPLE reached 1 million “Likes”, the largest fan base of any magazine on that platform. This was achieved through creative strategies to engage consumers such as hosting sweepstakes and social media campaigns tied to the magazines iconic franchises.

     
  • Executive Changes at Time Inc.

    Fran Hauser was named President of Digital for both the Style & Entertainment and Lifestyle groups. She was previously President of Digital for the Style & Entertainment Group. Former editor-at-large at Time Inc., Josh Quittner, has been promoted to Director of Editorial Development for the News, Business and Sports groups, a newly created position. Antonia van der Meer was appointed Editor-in-Chief of Coastal Living. Before joining Coastal Living, Antonia served as Editor-in-Chief of Modern Bride, Elegant Bride and Your Prom at Condé Nast.
