  • Time Inc. Reaches Agreement with Apple

    Time Inc. introduced a new deal with Apple allowing subscribers to TIME, FORTUNE, and Sports Illustrated to authenticate their print subscriptions digitally on the iPad and iPad2. These titles join PEOPLE Magazine’s iPad model, delivering the iconic content subscribers know and trust directly to consumers’ fingertips at no extra cost. This is just one of the many ways Time Inc. is adding value to its product offerings.

  • Time Inc. Remembers Elizabeth Taylor

    In the days following Elizabeth Taylor’s death, Time Inc. editors compiled special tributes to commemorate her life. TIME featured a seven page tribute to the star in the magazine’s culture section which included photography documenting her life and career as well as an essay by TIME film critic, Richard Corliss, while TIME.com editors curated a “Remembering Elizabeth Taylor” photo gallery. For the first time ever, Entertainment Weekly had a front and back cover for the April 1 issue. The front cover featured an Entertainment Weekly exclusive on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s return to entertainment and a first look at his next project, while the back cover featured Liz Taylor which opened to a 13-page spread on the star. LIFE.com released a gallery of previously unpublished photos of Elizabeth, leading the site to 10 million total page views on the day of her death, one of the highest traffic days ever for the site. LIFE also launched an app for the iPad entitled “Remembering Liz Taylor,” which features over 100 photos documenting LIFE’s coverage of the star. PEOPLE’s 17-page cover story on the actress featured interviews with friends and loved ones including Debbie Reynolds, Larry King and Firooz Zahedi. PEOPLE.com’s Elizabeth Taylor Remembrance Package generated 35 million page views making it the second highest remembrance package for the site behind Michael Jackson. Both LIFE and PEOPLE are issuing commemorative books that take a look inside Elizabeth Taylor’s celebrated life through
    words and pictures.

  • The FORTUNE Brainstorm GREEN Conference

    On April 4-6, FORTUNE held its annual FORTUNE Brainstorm GREEN Conference in Laguna Niguel, California. Brainstorm GREEN brought together more than 300 CEOs and senior executives of FORTUNE 500 companies to focus on key emerging environmental trends and innovative ways that companies can drive sustainability. FORTUNE streamed select sessions to a virtual audience of nearly 3,000 people, a 30% increase from last year. The program included panel discussions and interviews from a diverse group of industry leaders including Virgin Group Ltd. CEO Sir Richard Branson, C3 Chairman Tom Siebel, S.C. Johnson & Son Chairman and CEO Fisk Johnson and dozens more. The conference was led by key members of FORTUNE’s editorial staff including Managing Editor Andy Serwer, Senior Editors at Large Brian Dumaine and Adam Lashinsky and Contributing Editor Marc Gunther.

  • Wallpaper App

    Wallpaper announced its launch on the iPad starting with the August issue. Wallpaper’s iPad edition will be available monthly and feature state-of-the-art video, sound, animation and photo galleries. This app for the iPad is the first from IPC Media and will be available starting in July.



  • InStyle and People StyleWatch Break Records for May Issues

    InStyle reported an increase of 258 ad pages in the May issue, a 24% increase year-over-year. The biggest issue in five years, InStyle is recognized as the only monthly to exceed 1000 ad pages year-to-date, January-May. This milestone is attributed to success in Beauty, where paging is up 40% - more than any weekly or monthly in 2010. The title also broke new business in Luxury with brands such as Chanel, Prada and Cartier. People StyleWatch’s ad pages are up 54% year-over-year for the May issue. Continued growth in the fashion, retail and beauty sectors helped to reach this success. Additionally StyleWatch, which is ranked #6 on AdWeek’s Hot List, acquired 76 pages of new advertisers with brands like Gucci fragrance, Roxy and Macy’s.
     

     
  • Health's Tag Issue

    Health's May issue is the brands first-ever tag issue – an interactive experience consisting of codes that activate bonus content through Microsoft’s Tag technology. The codes link to various content including how-to videos, sweepstakes entries, fitness tips and slideshows. The issue generated an impressive 5,000 downloads within the first six days of release. Health broke new business for the 2-D issue including Sally Hansen, Schick and Rusk and ad pages are up 22.5% year-over-year.
     

     
  • TIME 100

    The annual TIME 100 issue, which honors the world’s most influential people over the past year hit newsstands on April 22. To celebrate this issue, TIME hosted the annual TIME 100 Gala on April 26 at Lincoln Center in New York. Google engineer Wael Ghonim delivered the keynote address for the event while Sting and Bruno Mars performed live. Attendees included author Amy Chua and Glee’s Chris Colfer, actor Mark Wahlberg, Newark Mayor Cory Booker and comedian Seth Meyers. TIME.com’s TIME 100 content, which includes the TIME 100 poll pages, video and behind-the-scenes highlights, has totaled 13 million page views since it launched last Thursday. Ad revenue for the issue increased 10% and digital revenue associated with the issue increased 67% year-over-year.
