As part of Time Inc.’s successful launch of all 21 brands on the tablet platform, Time Inc. held various promotions at the annual Consumer Electronics Show, January 10-13 in Las Vegas. This included a tablet-shaped promo piece for attendees that contained free access to Time Inc. brands on the iPad, Kindle Fire, Nook Tablet/Nook Color and Android devices via NextIssue.

InStyle up 13% in March Ad Pages
InStyle is up 13% in advertising pages year-over-year for its March spring fashion issue, making this its largest March issue ever. New business in the luxury and beauty categories, up 64% and 33% respectively, attributed to this growth. This is the third year in a row InStyle has achieved double-digit growth in paging for the March issue – ad pages have increased a total of 79.8%. David Yurman, Missoni and Nordstrom are among InStyle’s first-time advertisers.

MyRecipes Network Has Record-Setting Fourth Quarter in 2011
The MyRecipes Network had a record-setting fourth quarter, growing unique visitors by 62% year-over-year and ranking in comScore’s top 10 community-food websites for three consecutive months. MyRecipes grew SEO in the fourth quarter by 47% year-over-year and referrals from social media site Pinterest grew 350% from the third quarter to the fourth quarter 2011. In addition, MyRecipes led the Lifestyle Group with 53 million unique visitors in 2011, up 29% year-over-year. TIME.com Names Catherine Sharick Managing Editor
TIME announced that Catherine Sharick will assume the position of Managing Editor of TIME.com. Most recently, Catherine was the Executive Editor of TIME.com, where she was instrumental in leading the site to three record-breaking months and an 11% growth in visitors to the site in 2011. In addition, she oversaw the launch of many of TIME.com’s popular verticals - Newsfeed, Healthland, Moneyland and Swampland.

Essence Announces Line-ups for Marquee Events
Essence named leading actresses Kerry Washington, Paula Patton, Octavia Spencer, Pam Grier and executive producer and screenwriter Shonda Rhimes honorees for the fifth annual Black Women in Hollywood luncheon. The luncheon will take place on February 23 and the red carpet arrivals and luncheon will be streamed live on Essence.com. The brand also announced Aretha Franklin as the headlining act for the 18th Annual Essence Music Festival July 6-8 in New Orleans. The three-day event will also feature notable speakers during the Essence Empowerment Experience such as Steve Harvey and Rev. Al Sharpton. The presenting sponsor for the 2012 Essence Music Festival is Coca-Cola. Major sponsors include Coors Light, State Farm and Visa Pre-Paid.
