Kim Tan Named Vice President of Marketing for Real Simple
April 28, 2013New York, NY - Kim Tan was named Vice President, Marketing for Real Simple, it was announced today by Publisher Charlie Kammerer. In her new role, Tan will lead the team in developing and implementing a strategic plan that provides comprehensive marketing programs and sales development tools for the Real Simple brand starting with print and digital assets. Tan joins Real Simple today, Monday, April 29th and will report to Kammerer. This appointment follows the recent promotion of Amy Oelkers to Associate Publisher of Sales for the brand. Tan comes to Real Simple from GQ where she served as Executive Director of Creative Services overseeing the brand's Integrated Marketing and Creative Services departments. Prior to joining GQ, Tan held positions at various magazine brands including Allure, Seventeen, Shape, Men's Fitness, and Elle Decor. Tan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University. Kim's extensive experience and her enthusiasm make her the perfect person to lead our marketing team forward, said Kammerer. The magazine is up 6.3% in PIB ad pages year-to-date, with the April issue up more than 11% year-over-year.
